During the EP plenary session (3-6 April 2017) in Strasbourg, MEPs vote on the report Mariya GABRIEL (EPP, BG) so that Ukrainian citizens will have the right to travel to the EU without a visa. The text has been informally agreed with the Council and is likely to enter into force at the start of June. The legislation, approved by 521 votes to 75 with 36 abstentions, still needs to be formally adopted by the Council of Ministers. It is likely to enter into force in June, 20 days after it is published in the EU Official Journal.
