The Wall divided a whole country as well as the city of Berlin and, on an individual level, families. Underground tunnels attempted to  bring relatives together again.

Through the history of my family I'm   strongly connected to the Berlin Wall.

Our family suffered a lot   due to Berlin’s division.

She stood there in the distance,   very far from us, and waved back at us.

He has a degree in Philosophy,   and takes a keen interest in the Wall.

We are standing right now   where there used to be

one of the 20 or 30 escape tunnels   under the Bernauer Straße.

This tunnel ran up to   Schönholzer Straße 7.
