SOUNDBITE (English), Herman VAN ROMPUY, President of European Council, Our attendance is important because we want to show Europe and the world that Special Olympics are not downgraded Olympics, there are meaning Olympics where people meet people.

SOUNDBITE (English), Androula VASSILIOU, European Commissioner for Education, Culture, Multilingualism and Youth, It's a great pleasure for me and I'm really moved because I was personally involved with Special Olympics; I accompanied my own country to several gemes, international and European and I know what it means to participate in Special Olympics. It gives joy not only to the Special Olympians but to everybody, the family, the friends.
