The Council's unilateral decision  to move the legal basis

for the evaluation of Schengen  so the EP will no longer have a say

It's in fact a question of an attempt  by the Council to renationalise Schengen.

You've got the experience from Denmark.  Did the last government teach you nothing?

As far as I'm concerned,  the Danish Presidency ended on 7 June.

MEPs will now take the Council  to the European Court of Justice.

Syria, parts of Congo and elsewhere were  the focus of a plenary debate this afternoon

for which Foreign Policy Representative  Catherine Ashton visited the plenary.

Tougher sanctions and a more effective ban  on arms exports are in the making

in order to give a stronger arm  to the EU's human rights policy.

Volunteer work is an important contribution  to EU societies and economies,

and an opportunity for young people  to gain experience.

When they intend to do so abroad however,  they face numerous obstacles.

The problem is knowing  where is it possible to work as a volunteer.

MEPs adopted a number of measures  including a skills and competences passport

and a European humanitarian  volunteer corps

to make life easier  for cross-border volunteers.
