SOUNDBITE (Italian), Salvatore CICU (EPP, IT), <p>This is an important outstanding result, at  first reading. The Trade Committee, representing the EP position, has had its say on the European Commission proposal on the new anti-dumping rules. The EP contribution strengthens two main aspects. First, the scope of significant distortions, such as identifying that there is a distortions, and there is unfair competition because of a dumped price. Some exporters work under a state-owned system, receive stated aids, or lack a transparent company legal framework, a collective bargaining agreements. Therefore, they do not match the standards system running in the European Union. Therefore, we have extended the scope of what constitute a distortion in line with the European Commission text when it comes to detecting distortions from exporting countries. This is for our industry, for our SMEs, a reference to skip any further burden.</p>
