SOUNDBITE (French), Jerzy Karol BUZEK, EP President, The declaration is just as relevant today as it was 6 decades ago. Because it offered a new form of governance, open to all who wish to join. Negotiations, partnership and solidarity. Not based on force and oppression anymore.

SOUNDBITE (English), Jerzy Karol BUZEK, EP President, I met a few weeks ago in Washington our friends from opposite side of Atlantic sea, and it was not easy to explain them, how Europe is working today, because we sometimes cannot take very quickly our decisions. So I explained very shortly that it is better that Europe should be boring in negotiations than warring. We changed in a fantastic way our European continent!
