LIBE Committee hearing in Brussels - The Civil Liberties Committee will hear from industry and consumer representatives on how big internet companies, such as Google, use tracking systems to study the behaviour of their users in order to offer online advertisers better targeted consumers. Online advertising is a 27 billion dollar market which is expected to double over a period of four years. The aim of the committee will be to discuss in three different round tables how to better protect the freedom of expression and the pluralism of internet while protecting at the same time the personal data of Internet users
