European Elections 2014: Statement by Martin SCHULZ, EC President candidate for the European Socialist Party

SOUNDBITE (German), Martin SCHULZ (S&amp;D, DE), EP President and EC President candidate, "It is essential right now that we do find a majority in the European Parliament, seeing all the prognostics we are having a neck to neck race , one that is yet not decided, also in the constellations of the political groups. I'm very optimistic that there will be a majority in the European Parliament +for Martin Schulz and I will be very much concentrated to work on this task; to construct this majority. (Applause) Such a majority must achieve 3 points. Europe needs more justice. We are a very richt part of this planet with a very unfair distribution of the wealth. I want especially tonight at this time of the evening remind us of what had been said during the election campaign, especially for us Germans is it important - it cannot be that 6 Million young men and women are jobless and that a whole generation pays with their future for a crisis provoked by irresponsible people - I want to battle against this youth unemployment."
