CETA agreement's state of play: statement by Martin SCHULZ, EP President

SOUNDBITE (English), Martin SCHULZ, EP President, There is not only still hope for CETA, we are on the way to find a compromise and to find a solution to questions raised by the Wallonians, which ar questions raised by a lot of citizens all over in Europe and we have to give a an answer to them. And after all my meetings during the weekend and today I am optimistic that we will find an answer.

SOUNDBITE (French), Martin SCHULZ, EP President, We have tried during the weekend and today to find answers to question raised by the Wallonian government, by the parliamentarians in Wallonia. Firstof all it is certainly an internal problem in Belgium, the federal government and the government in Namur must find an agreement between themselves, but the questions raised by the Wallonians are raised by many citizens in Europe, so to find answers to that is in our common interest.
