MEPs debate on the programme, challenges and opportunities of the European Year of Youth 2022. In particular, they will address the devastating effect of the COVID-19 crisis on young Europeans’ employment, education and mental health, MEPs urged the prioritization of the needs of young people. In particular MEPs demanded the EU make mental health an integral part of Europe’s socio-economic recovery from the pandemic, as well as making it an occupational health priority.
