SOUNDBITE (English), Martin SCHULZ, EP President, We are all in our own way, trying to work out how to best deal with the growing economic dominance of China. We have witnessed China's unparalleled ascent from a developing country into an economic superpower in only three decades. And yet, we should not forget that the US sells three times as many goods to the EU than to China, and the EU sells twice as many goods to the US than to China, too. Yet there is much more that unites us than divides us.

SOUNDBITE (English), Martin SCHULZ, EP President, The spread of the financial crisis and worries about currency stability, have been a strong reminder for our economies that our economies are deeply integrated. The stakes are high. The US and the EU generate almost 5 trillion dollars every year, together we make up half of global trade and half of global GDP.
