SOUNDBITE (English), Antonio TAJANI, EP President, There is no doubt that the aviation sector is a key contributor to the EU economic prosperity and as I said the job creation. The sector is based on high technology manufacturing products, served on the global market. 

SOUNDBITE (French), Antonio TAJANI, EP President (On Horizon Europe funding)- The Commission is proposing 100 billion for the period 2021-2027 and we (European Parliament) are suggesting 130 billion in order to promote innovation and research. Without industry we can do neither research nor innovate. It is necessary to help Europe in this area. At the same time we have to help you, we have to make sure you are at ease to be able to be a play in the European Union's future. As I said without industry, we cannot meet our global challenges. We need industry and we need the aeronautic industry in particular which is is a great European champion. It is a great challenge. It is not going to be easy but I think we will be lucky enough to win. 

SOUNDBITE (English), Maros SEFCOVIC, Vice-President of the EC in charge of Energy Union, We are facing growing competition and I think thanks to the contacts we had with you, we are also much more realistic and much more apprehensive on the fact that if it comes to the competition and to the competitors, sometimes they really enjoy massive governmental support. We also have to be aware of the big challenges that are brought up in the industry in the area of digitisation, cyber security and urban mobility. 

SOUNDBITE (English), Tom ENDERS, Airbus CEO, We really need to bring something forward in terms of artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data etc in Europe. If I look today at the companies that I think Airbus needs to cooperate with, to accelerate its change, to accelerate digitisation, sorry to say they're hardly in Europe. Today they are mostly in the United States and we are doing this. I think that poses a question also for Europeans on the big model of how to do research.
