SOUNDBITE (English), Jerzy Karol BUZEK, EP President, I am very glad that the Prime Minister and his Government are leading Moldova in a proper direction. Reforms are not very easy, could be even dangerous sometimes from a political point of view, but necessary for the country, if the country would like to develop and be closer to the European Union. It is necessary. I regret the fact that the referendum was not successful because low turn out but this is also very often in the time of transition.

SOUNDBITE (Romanian), Vlad FILAT, Moldovan Prime Minister, Our meeting so far has focused mostly on assessments of our past actions and our proposals for the future. We have engaged on the pathway to European integration. It is a difficult process but it is highly necessary. Our result, so far, shows that reforms are needed and benefit, fortunately, from the support of our European partners on this pathway. In this respect, I would like to thank you for the decision which was approved last week, the decision granting Moldova 90 million Euro micro financial support. This is money that comes at the right time and it will go into supporting the very much needed reforms.
