SOUNDBITE (Italian), Pina PICIERNO (S&amp;D, IT), Rapporteur, This is an important report that comes after the #MeToo movement; the need for this report comes after a mobilization, at every level, from women who started to denounce the harassments they suffered during the years.

SOUNDBITE (Italian), Pina PICIERNO (S&amp;D, IT), Rapporteur, And then we obtained the request for a directive, in my opinion this is the most important point of this report, to achieve a new, homogenous,  juridical definition of what it means to be harassed. This seems to be the better answer to that movement, that created a debate all around the world.

SOUNDBITE (Italian), Pina PICIERNO (S&amp;D, IT), Rapporteur, A lot of women, they were threatened because of these new public spaces that are not regulated. This is also another very important aspect, we underlined it, we included Internet&rsquo;s space, social media&rsquo;s space, these new public spaces, in our report, treating them like defined spaces.

SOUNDBITE (Italian), Pina PICIERNO (S&amp;D, IT), Rapporteur, We dedicated a particular attention on women who are publicly exposed while they are doing their job, because this kind of exposure can generate and most of the times generates an amplification of the possible threatens and harassments. So we dedicated a particular attention to journalists, as well as to all women that are exposed because of their jobs.

SOUNDBITE (Italian), Pina PICIERNO (S&amp;D, IT), Rapporteur, The change is that now there is a standard (we are asking for it) in the definition of what it means to be harassed in a public space and in a work space.
