During the meeting of the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE) in Brussels, MEPs vote on new rules to better equip EU countries to freeze and confiscate criminal assets across the EU. Part of a package aimed at strengthening the fight against financing terrorism and organised crime, the draft legislation would also allow national authorities to temporarily freeze assets that are at risk of suddenly being moved, if no action is taken.
