SOUNDBITE (English), Mariya GABRIEL, European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, I'm impressed by the extraordinary work, by the extraordinary number of examples in order to show that the phenomenon of fake news or disinformation, that it's not something new and we have examples that are convincing us how to deal with this topic. The second, I'm humbled because I see here a real scientific approach. How important it is to listen to experts and finally I am determined to continue together with well, with all the actions within my portfolio touching to the role of education, for media literacy and disinformation, to continue to take actions and to do it together with experts, with teachers, with young people, with our entire society.

So we need to always here to check the resources. The second, what I'd like very much is the interactive manner to to transmit knowledge, to have it as a game, for example, for our children. And we know that it's another way to get more people to bring more attention to this topic.

And on the other side, teachers, they need too to have access to different skills, to different tools. And that's why e-twinning is so important. On the one side, teachers can exchange best practises, can have access to online materials, to innovative pedagogies and on the the other side they are the best way really to touch our young people.

SOUNDBITE (English), Mariya GABRIEL, European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, When we talk about the added value of the European approach on fake news or disinformation, there is no contradiction between fundamental principles and values like freedom of expression or access to information and the transparency and the responsibility, transparency, responsibility for platforms. You know that we have our go to practise since 2008. Recently, we revised the code in order to strengthen some of the actions. We would like here, of course, to continue to try to work together with them. We need to promote more visibility for facts, for initiatives like this one, for exhibitions, in order really to show that we need to have at our disposal all these tools.
