SOUNDBITE (Italian), Antonio TAJANI, EP President, <p>First of all, I want to comment on the press reports about the very worrying tortures and murders of people in Chechnya because of their sexual orientation. As a result, I would call on Chechnya authorities to provide as soon as possible to the international community all details on what is happening. I confirm the EP absolute condemnation of any form of persecution and discrimination directed to people because of their sexual, racial, religious or political orientation. The EP will always defend these values within the EU but also outside the EU. Applause</p>
