Greta THUNBERG, climate activist from Sweden, came to prominence for starting the school strikes for climate in November 2018.
Her protests grew and other strikes started around the world. The hashtag #FridaysForFuture became viral.
By December 2018, thousands of students around the world had joined her in several countries. She joined strikes around Europe, choosing to travel by train to limit her impact on the environment.
On 16 April 2019, Greta THUNBERG came for the first time to the European Parliament in Strasbourg.
