Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET) and Committee on Development (DEVE) vote, in a closed meeting, to shortlist the three finalists for the 2018 Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought, in the European Parliament in Brussels. SOUNDBITE (English), David McALLISTER (EPP, DE), Chair of AFET EP Committee, So we have the final result for the shortlist in alphabetical order: these are the NGOs protecting human rights and saving lives of migrants across the Mediterranean Sea, Mr. Oleg Sentsov and  Nasser Zefzafi. These are the three candidates, they have been chosen as nominees for the Sakharov Prize. Their names will now be communicated to the Conference of Presidents which of the 25th of October will take a final decision.
