SOUNDBITE (English), Pascal CANFIN (Renew, FR), The green deal is on the legislative part. The change of more than 50 laws. Some of them have been changed in July, at least proposed by the commission. And it's the so-called fit for 55 package, we prefer to call it in the parliament, fitful 2030 package. 

SOUNDBITE (English), Pascal CANFIN (Renew, FR), When you look at the whole 14 text package that have been presented by the commission in July, the Fourth of July, all of them except one are in co-decision. So the role of the parliament will be key. When I say except one, it's because there is a tax issue regarding the taxation of energy. And as you all know, taxation is not a decision. So for the rest of the 13 text, uh, the role of the parliament will be key. As you might probably know as well, the core element of the reform we start the negotiation of is the carbon market reform.

SOUNDBITE (English), Pascal CANFIN (Renew, FR),  We have also the standards for cars and the proposal from the Commission is to stop the sales of non zero emissions cars in 2035. The parliament actually didn't really took has never taken a position specifically on this. But what I do expect is that there will be amendments saying we should go for 2040 instead of twenty thirty five, an amendment saying we should go for 2030 instead of 2035. And at the end of the day, I guess the majority will remain on 2035. That's my bet. 

SOUNDBITE (English), Pascal CANFIN (Renew, FR), So I would say that the climate dimension as such is the massive package of July and then you have plastic circular economy, Ecodesign and biodiversity in December.

Uh, the first one is the green finance regulations that are coming again. So the prudential rules on banks and the prudential rules on insurance sector, that's for October. So very, very soon.
