Soundbite (Italian), David SASSOLI, EP President, As far as the MFF is concerned, you know that the German Presidency has accepted our invitation to resume negotiations and there will be a first meeting today. The mandate of our negotiators is very clear, that is what you mentioned, which I reminded the Council. Of course we are willing to listen to proposals that will come to meet Parliament's ambitions. We need to support programmes that would be in trouble in the second half of the multiannual budget and we want to give a big boost to the end of Recovery. There is an assessment of medium term with sufficient capacity and flexibility so that not even one euro is lost.

It is clear that everyone hopes for this negotiation to be concluded quickly if there is the political will of the Council, perhaps even support from the Commission.
