Announcement of lead candidates for the Presidency of the European Commission - Party of European Socialists (PES)

During the Party of European Socialists (PES) Congres in Lisbon on the 7 and 8th December 2018, Frans TIMMERMANS, First Vice-President of the EC in charge of the Better Regulation, Interinstitutional Relations, the Rule of Law and the Charter of Fundamental Rights, was endorsed as the lead candidate for the PES for the European Elections on the 26th of May 2019. The event welcomed Maros SEFCOVIC, Vice-President of the EC in charge of the Energy Union, Pedro SANCHEZ, Spanish Prime Minister, Antonio COSTA, Portuguese Prime Minister and Sergei STANISHEV, President of the Party of European Socialists.
