SOUNDBITE (English), Antonio TAJANI, EP President, This Parliament has continually spoken out against all forms of discrimination against woman. For example, we passed a resolution on empowering women in the digital age and gender and gender equality in the use of media sector. We cannot make their world safer and more prosperous, unless we empower women so that they can realize their full potential in all areas. It is why we call on you to join us in saying 'No' to online violence against women in public life, and say 'Yes' to making the Internet a place where every woman can enjoy her rights and freedoms safely, while benefiting from mutual respect and dignity.

SOUNDBITE (English), Mariya GABRIEL, Member of the EC in charge of the Digital agenda, We launched today the digital respect for her campaign. We intend to raise awareness through social media of an unacceptable character of online violence against women. We would like to see women and men in the public life from all member states to actively engage in saing 'No' to on line violence against women and promoting digital respect for her.

SOUNDBITE (English), V&#277;ra JOUROV&#193;, Member of the EC in charge of Justice, Consumers and Gender Equality, More and more this online world is discouraging for the women and girls to engage in public affairs. I spoke to many women journalists, and of course the politicians, the women working for NGO's, the human rights defenders, they are everyday targets of violence online. That's why we said we have to stop it. We have to do everything to decrease or eliminate this online violence against women.
