David Cameron has caused a stir  with a speech in London

in which he talked about  repatriating certain powers,

renegotiating Britain’s position in the EU

and then holding a referendum  on staying in or getting out.

He made it very clear that public support for  the existing settlement in the UK is so low

that probably this is the only way  of saving our membership.

Other group leaders at the EP detected  a domestic agenda and were unimpressed.

It is a speech asking for an individual  renegotiation of the membership of Britain

The plan to cut Europe’s carbon emissions  by more than 80% by 2050

took a step forward as members of the  Industry, Research and Energy Committee

backed a report on  the so-called Energy Roadmap.

According to its author, Europe must  look at every option to reach its goal.

The continent, the 27 Member States could  contribute with their own energy resources.

We in Greece would contribute renewables.

Other countries can contribute  unconventional gas.

A group of women MPs  from four southern Mediterranean states

have been on a four-day  fact-finding visit to the EP.

They heard from officials and members  and debated issues with MEPs.

The women are from Morocco,  Tunisia, Libya and Algeria,

recently involved  in the seizure of a gas plant

and the rescue of hostages,  although many were also killed.

There may be a threat, but I think we still  have confidence in the Algerian army.

It’s an army that was developed  during the period of terrorism,

which has had a fairly  significant experience and rather...
