The EU Heads of state or government of the Member States will meet via video conference on 19 June 2020 and look at a number of the most pressing issues.
They will discuss the issue of a recovery fund to respond to the COVID-19 crisis and a new EU long term budget. The proposal for a new recovery instrument and for the multiannual financial framework (MFF) for 2021-2027 presented by the European Commission on 27 May 2020 will be at the heart of the discussion. The EU leaders' discussion will serve as a thorough preparation for a summit at a later date which, if possible, will be a physical meeting.
