Tim Berners-Lee: One Web, free and open for all - STOA 8th Annual Lecture The founder of the World Wide Web Tim Berners-Lee will tell MEPs about the latest developments of the internet at this year's annual lecture organised by Parliament's scientific research panel STOA. Sir Tim Berners-Lee invented the World Wide Web, an internet-based hypermedia initiative for global information sharing, while at CERN, the European Particle Physics Laboratory. He wrote the first web client and server in 1990.
