SOUNDBITE (English), David McALLISTER (EPP, DE), AFET Chair, The Foreign Affairs Committee and the Development Commitee had a joint meeting, and our three candidates for the short list are: Miss Lolita CHAVEZ, the Democratic opposition in Venezuela, and Mr Dawit ISAAK. These are our three candidates, in alphabetical order. Lolita CHAVEZ is a human rights activist from Guatemala,  the Democratic opposition in Venezuela of course has played an important role in the events in this country in the recent weeks and months, Mr.Dawit ISAAK is a Swedish-Eritrean playwright and human rights activist who has been imprisoned for many, many years now in Eritrea.
