SOUNDBITE (German), Bernd LANGE (S&amp;D, DE), Rapporteur, "We have made clear that there will be no ISDS, we are building on ongoing reflections to create a new arbitration institution (referring to COM Malmstr&ouml;m), I think that is a very good signal. The old ISDS is dead and we want to build on reasonable rules and will not allow anymore the private arbitrary systems."

SOUNDBITE (German), Bernd LANGE (S&amp;D, DE), Rapporteur, "We have a very long list of key elements, the exception on general public supply, and this concerns private one, but also the public sector, such as access to water supply or health. We have made clear that you cannot liberalize public services in general; therefore we have created a defined list, because we need to check very carefully where we want to open the market or not. We have created exceptional cases for the cultural sector, for the cultural diversity; therefore we can say this is the position of the EP. What made me especially happy was that we defined clearly how to ratify the common core norms of work, because this is also an important moment to have a fair trade basis in this time of globalisation."
