SOUNDBITE (English), Judith SARGENTINI (Greens/EFA, NL), It's takes us two years, from the moment its reached the Parliament, till today, to bring to the proposals anti money laundering. I think the Parliament by putting in a public register had really improved the proposal and help it out to work not only against money laundering and financing of terrorism, but also tax avoidance and tax evasion. Thank you.

SOUNDBITE (English), Kri&#353;j&#257;nis KARIN&#352; (EPP, LV), The cooperation between the two committees was very difficult at first, it went a little less difficult with the time, and if we woulded have an other six month we would go completely in tandem. I have to say thank you to all the colleagues. It toked  five trialogues. The problem was not from the Parliament, we actually had quite clear, united position. The difficulty was with the Council.

What I find the most important is making sure that citizens also know who actualy  owns a company, in order for these people not to shy away, and to make them pay their taxes. I've seen for instance that the son of the former president of Ukraine, has put its money in a Shell company in my own country the Netherlands, and not paying taxes for that in the Ukraine.  I think that shameful and by a public register we try to open that up .

SOUNDBITE (English), Judith SARGENTINI (Greens/EFA, NL), <p>This legislation is called anti money laundering and terrorist financing but honestly terrorism is cheap. It's turned out that you can do a lot of harm, with a little amount of money, so its difficult to find terrorism via a bank account, its officially part of it, but I don't think it's really works.</p>
