Digital Green Certificate: extracts from the debate
Event date: 24/03/2021
During the plenary session of the European Parliament in Brussels (24 - 25 March 2021), MEPs debate the digital green certificate. The proposal aims to facilitate safe, free movement inside the EU during the COVID-19 pandemic. It would include information on whether a traveller has been vaccinated against COVID-19, if they have received a negative COVID-19 test result and information on any previous COVID-19 infections. Extracts from the statements by Ana Paula ZACARIAS, Portuguese Secretary of State for European Affairs, on behalf of the EU Council, Maros SEFCOVIC, Vice-President of the EC in charge of Interinstitutional relations and Foresight, Manfred WEBER (EPP, DE), Iratxe GARCÍA PÉREZ (S&D, ES), Katalin CSEH (Renew, HU) and Philippe LAMBERTS (Greens/EFA, BE).
