MEPs have formed their political groups in Parliament. The Greens-European Free Alliance is a coalition of progressive parties with a strong emphasis on ecology.

A more just, sustainable and democratic society:

these are the three axes of political ecology, the three fibres of its DNA.

They cannot be separated from one another.

The Greens – European Free Alliance, or Greens/EFA for short,

is a progressive, pro-ecology parliamentary group.

It consists of three distinct parties – The European Green Party,

the European Free Alliance and the Pirate Party.

The group is co-chaired by Ska Keller from Germany

Any legislative action at EU level, like passing a law or raising money,

must obey two constraints: reducing our ecological footprint and reducing inequalities.

In the 2019 European elections the Greens won 74 seats in the Parliament,

It has members from 16 different EU countries,

with the biggest delegations coming from Germany, France and the UK.

I think that more and more people in our society realise

that the choices that are made at a European level are crucial, absolutely crucial,

if we are to take charge of our future, to have sovereignty. 

Now the question is: are we capable of reconciling 

the choices made at a European level with the interests of the people?

Whether we like it or not, if we look at the last 30 years,

EU policies have benefitted a single category of the population, the wealthy.
