Next week, EP committees will be busy discussing rating agency reform, ACTA, a proposed automatic emergency call service and projects to improve animal welfare.

Hello, after a Strasbourg plenary,  MEPs will meet in committees.

Controlling credit rating agencies better  is still a priority for the EU.

On Tuesday, the Economic Affairs  Committee should vote on new reforms.

The MEPs will discuss ways  to better assess sovereign debts

and counter the domination  of the three big agencies

The question will set the tone for Tuesday's  Petitions Committee meeting.

As a reminder, the global online movement  Avaaz has filed a petition with the EP.

It calls on the MEPs to defend  a free and open internet

the international  Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement.

The International Trade Committee  still has to decide.

So far four committees  have rejected the agreement.

but the damage can be limited  by the rapid arrival of rescue services.

That's why the EU is planning  a new system called eCall,

a new, automatic  emergency call service for citizens.

The Consumer Protection and Transport  Committees will discuss this new '112'.

It's a question of knowing  who will pay for this new platform:

public authorities or private operators?  Response on Tuesday.

The protection and welfare of animals  is another major topic

tackled next week  in the Agriculture Committee.

MEPs will discuss EU projects  for the animal world in 2012-2015.

In recent years the EU has allocated nearly  70 million euros to the welfare of animals.
