During the plenary session (01-04/10/2018) of the European Parliament in Strasbourg, MEPs debate and vote on a new law setting a 45% target, proposed by the Environment Committee, for reducing carbon dioxide emissions for new cars by 2030, with an intermediate target of 20% by 2025. Carmakers would also have to increase the market share of electric cars and low- emission vehicles.
