Event date: 13/06/2018
During the plenary session (11-14 June 2018) of the European Parliament in Strasbourg, MEPs vote a draft law saying the EP should shrink from 751 to 705 MEPs when the UK leaves the EU. 46 of the 73 UK seats will be put in a reserve; the other 27 would be distributed among the 14 EU countries that are currently slightly under-represented in the House. The results are: 566 in favour, 94 against and 31 abstentions. Statements by Danuta Maria HÜBNER (EPP, PL) and Pedro SILVA PEREIRA (S&D, PT).
