They are playing important role as a result of the commitment of its courageous member&rsquo;s public opinion to be aware of the scale of the crimes which were committed by communists in Russia. The victims of these violence when not only people in other republics but Russians themselves.

There is also a very big concern regarding the human rights abuses and torture of you LGBT&rsquo;s people in Chechnya. Russia authorities, you have to investigate and stop the assault on Human rights defenders in Chechnya and in other parts of your country.

SOUNDBITE (English), Charles TANNOCK (ECR, UK), Finding the balance between ensuring security and honouring civil liberties in these circumstances is always a difficult one; nevertheless we are right to raise our human rights concerns with such an important international partner. The continuing use of military courts trial billions and the reported use of torture to obtain confessions and increasing use of capital punishment are all causes for great concern. Finally I would like to welcome the call is in the revolution today for further investigation into the killing of Italian researcher and British resident Gulio Regeni.

Furthermore we encourage Egypt to take concrete steps, to end military trials for civilians, but also to retrial citizens convicted by military court under civilian court in accordance with international standards for fair trial.
