The big climate summit to save the world didn't achieve the goals of the European Union. However, European citizens haven't thrown in the towel. We went on a tour of Europe to see what they're up to.

The end of global warming   is nowhere near in sight.

The 192 countries gathered   in Copenhagen didn't manage to agree

Its plan to fight global warming   was rejected by the other countries.

But Europeans have lots of original ideas.

Green initiatives are taking place   all over Europe. Let's have a look.

With muscular calves   and Christmas lights powered by cyclists,

the green attitude should have been   a hit in 2009 in Copenhagen.

But the climate conference wasn't   as successful as the EU had hoped.

When landing, they cut off the engines   and glide over the runway.

It's called green landing.   Less gas, so less fuel is needed.

In London, night owls   produce electricity when dancing.

The dance floor,   made of crystals and ceramic,

stocks the energy of the dancers   and generates electricity.

This eco-disco is powered   by its own wind turbine.

Pedestrians and cyclists get free entry.

This young designer   focuses on underwear.

Animals can also contribute   to saving the planet.

In this Sicilian town,   there is no waste collection truck.

To wrap up this tour, here is   the ex-Beatle Paul McCartney.

Cows emit a lot of methane,   a polluting greenhouse gas.

To reduce this pollution,   we need less cattle.

McCartney proposes   a meat-free day per week for everyone.

Seriously. There are other means   to reduce methane.

It can be used   to produce biogas and energy

or we can adapt cattle feed   to reduce emissions.

The EU is seriously looking into this   and we'll look into it too. Bye.
