The Greeks chose austerity.  Europe is relieved.

Greece voted on the colour of its future  government in Sunday's elections.

A left-right coalition between pro-euro and  pro-austerity parties should be formed

despite the breakthrough of Syriza,  the coalition of the left, which came second.

Fears of a Greek exit from the eurozone  were temporarily averted.

European Council President  Herman Van Rompuy

and Commission President Barroso  promised to help Athens

The question was to finally have been  answered on Tuesday

by MEPs specialising  in economic and monetary affairs.

The rules change aims to weaken  the domination of the three big agencies

but also to regulate their way of  assessing countries' sovereign debt.

The Danish Justice Minister  was in the EP on Tuesday

to explain the tug-of-war  between the MEPs and Member States.

On 7 June, EU Interior Ministers  decided to re-authorise border controls

within the Schengen free movement area  without consulting the EP.

In retaliation, MEPs suspended  their cooperation with the 27 states

The international  anti-counterfeiting agreement

was expected to be voted on  by the International Trade Committee.

Four committees  have already rejected it

before the plenary vote  expected in a few weeks' time.

Everyone seems to agree that this crisis  has been dealt with in the wrong way,

where countries are getting  into more debt to balance their budgets.

Potential measures will be discussed  and maybe approved at the next summit.

Do you think these measures  are sufficient to relaunch growth?

Well, at least growth is finally  at the top of the agenda,

as well as the need  for greater solidarity

in order to create a strong obstacle  to financial speculation

You seem very much in favour  of the increase in quality
