Together, seated at this very table, we worked hard to escape the pitfalls of nationalism. Together we worked towards an open, prosperous and more lawful world. Anyone that has lived a freedom shortage knows that our Union is an unparallel precious conquer.

SOUNDBITE (Italian), Antonio TAJANI, EP President, Today is a day of celebration, of European pride.(...) But all the challenges that lie ahead of us, we could never face them without common values. Europe is a big ideal, is our civilisation, our History and our differences. It is worth to believe in it, and to dedicate our future to make this big dream come true and which we shall offer to our young generation. If we are ready to do this, I am convinced that Europe will have great answers for all of the half a million citizens that are attentively following our dissimilarities.
