Batteries and waste batteries: MEPs debate (Part 1/2)

On 10 February, the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety (ENVI) adopted its position on proposed new rules governing the entire battery product life cycle, from design to end-of-life. MEPs are set to demand stronger sustainability and performance requirements and more stringent targets for waste collection, recycling efficiency and material recovery. First part of the debate.
