SOUNDBITE (English), Jerzy Karol BUZEK, EP President, Crucial points mentioned: Eastern partnership, Western Balkans, Cyprus... so geographically we're talking about the neighbours of the EU because Slovenia is absolutely a crucial point, new institutional context of the European Union after the Lisbon Treaty and of course we moved to stability of the Eurozone and we welcome the latest decisions taken to ensure the stability and integrity of the Euro area.

SOUNDBITE (English), Jerzy Karol BUZEK, EP President, The crisis is serious but the response of the European Union is serious as well so we have a very good proposal, very deep, very wide, very strong proposal from the side of the European Union and it is a great move forward so I am optimistic.

SOUNDBITE (English), Danilo T&#220;RK, President of the Republic of Slovenia, The response of the EU finance ministers is a serious and massive response and as we have seen from the first reactions of the financial markets around the world, it has been accepted by the global financial markets as adequate. As I said before, the whole monetary system has to evolve further and there is a need to give specific meaning to the concept of solidarity which will have to be developed in the sense of further procedures, mechanisms and criteria, and that will help to strengthen the Eurozone further.
