Along with purchasing the organic jeans in the conventional way, users can choose to lease Mud Jeans for EUR 5/month. At the end of the product's life (in one year according to the company) the jeans can be swapped for a new pair, kept or returned and processed back into fibres which then will be reused in a new article of clothing. More than 1 500 consumers throughout Europe are currently using this innovative service. The company is based in Netherlands and also has stores in Belgium, Austria, and Germany. The production and recycling facilities are based in Prato and Urbania, Italy, where they contribute to the creation of jobs in the fashion, textile, and recycling industries.

Based in London, UK, CMR is in operation since 2003 and represented in several EU countries, including France, Spain, Greece, Croatia, and Ireland. CMR's London office receives between 40 and 50 000 mobile phones per month, reaching an excess of 80 000 per month worldwide. The waste - turned into capital - comes both through its online services like Fonebank, as well as through bulk orders from corporate clients. Once received, these devices are vetted by CMR experts, a majority of the functioning mobile phones are re-introduced on the European market and those deemed unusable for use, are sent for recycling.

Exterior view of the Umicore Group building in Antwerp, Belgium The following footage was filmed at Umicore Group, a global resources and recycling group, with activities ranging from developing innovative means of recycling batteries and used consumer electronics to the manufacturing of alloys and high-purity metals for car catalysers and photovoltaics. The company has the world's largest and most efficient plant for the recycling of precious metals. Located in Belgium, the plant deals in the recycling of rechargeable batteries with the extracted materials being reused in things like new battery stacks for hybrid electric vehicles and mobile phones. Precious metals, such as silver, gold, and platinum can be extracted, refined and reused, which is cheaper for producers and consumers, as well as beneficial to the environment. In this way Umicore completes the 'cradle-to-cradle' loop by reintroducing resources, extracted from products which are already past their life cycle, or what the company refers to as 'urban mining'

Their products are entirely entirely made out of recycled and recyclable cardboard which is supplied by other recycling companies in the same region. The whole production process involves companies in a closed circuit of 50 km so their products are 100% local; the paper, the cardboard and the furniture, all is manufactured there and there is no waste, as the wasted cardboard pieces go back into the recycled cardboard pile to make cardboard all over again.

Stora Enso Langerbrugge N.V., produces annually 555,000 tonnes of newsprint and magazine paper made from entirely recycled paper. The company focuses on the recycling of waste paper and the development of renewable energy. Their own energy production is based on the incineration of biomass and secondary fuels and is used in the paper production process. Stora Enso Langerbrugge is part of the Swedish-Finnish Stora Enso Group, a global producer of paper, packaging materials and wood products. The Stora Enso Group is active in more than 35 countries.

Biogas can be used to produce electricity and heat, or can be used as fuel, or re-injected into the system. The degradation of organic matter also produces an excellent quality fertilizer for agriculture which means that agricultural or food by-products or waste that can be fermented are recycled to create energy and fertilizers. Notably from a ton of material that arrives on the site, 980 kg come out as fertilizer and meanwhile the material has been transformed in energy and fertilizer. No doubt Biogaz du Haut Geer ensures an additional link to the process of circular economy.
