<a>Ioan Mircea PASCU</a>, EP Vice President ,opens the vote and gives the floor to an MEP asking for a point of order

SOUNDBITE (French), Philippe LAMBERTS (Greens/EFA, BE), Co-Chair of the Greens/EFA group, <p>"On behalf of 191 signatories of the proposal for the inquiry committee on tax rulings I would like to make a point of order: The President of this house has decided unilaterally not to put to the vote in the Plenary the proposal made by 191 members. According to the rules, the Conference of Presidents must put to the vote of this assembly - with either positive or negative recommendations, up to them - the initial proposal. This has not been done, we therefore consider that this is an infringement of European law, and we therefore reserve the right for us to take this matter to the European Court of Justice." </p>

<a>Ioan Mircea PASCU</a>, EP Vice President, replies that this is a decision of the Conference of Presidents, the only body which has the right to decide on these matters, and moves to the votes.
