We had the opportunity to speak with the Director of the CIGEM and we believe it is a pilote experience which deserves to be maintained, also revised but maintained because it is uselful for the Republic of Mali and because it produces synergies interms of reciprocity from Mali to Europe and vice versa, therfore I believe it has to be maintained even if some aspects should be revised Saying that the pilot project CIGEM has been a valuable experience and it was very useful to talk about this project in all level and as an pilot project there is now the need to revise the functioning, but it is clear that this project was very useful for the Republic of Mali. It is a project lay out on reciprocity with EU- Mali- EU responsibilities. Saying that it is necessary to analyse several aspects of its activities.

Originally they believed that CIGEM was a FRONTEX transferred to Malil. No it is not that at all as we tried to explained it today, and the strength of the project is that it has included the civil society. the civil society is a fundamental element to understand the added value of the migration process. the protection of legal immigration and the fight against illegal or clandestine immigration.

SOUNDBITE (Spanish), Agust&#237;n D&#205;AZ DE MERA GARC&#205;A CONSUEGRA (EPP, ES), I give a lot of credit to the Malian diaspora. there is also an intensive debate on the TOKTEN programme. This means the the immigration from Mali which is highly qualified , the one thatis traind in universities, training centres has the possibility to transfer thiese knowl&eacute;dge in their own country. They are those who allowed the set up of the Mali university, their experience is of paramount importance in the field of agriculture, health and SMEs; So to my pont of the qualified diaspora from Mali has a significant importance in the development of Mali.
