SOUNDBITE (German), Martin SCHULZ, EP President , (Press conference) &ldquo;We heard a number of new proposals put on the table by the Eurozone Finance Ministers, the Eurogroup and we are looking at those proposals again. My impression actually is that we have Greek proposals, we have institutional proposals and as reasonable people we should be able to reach agreement soon.&rdquo;

SOUNDBITE (German), Martin SCHULZ, EP President , &ldquo;The last step in the completion of the agreement on Greek stability which was taken in the past already and it was actually supposed to run out in February, but it keeps being pushed back and we need to allow them to take this forward. There had been so many intensive debates and we have seen that even if we were now to reach an agreement none of the less of that implementation of that agreement will be difficult and how can we get Greece back to a country that does has growth, that does have employment. So it goes beyond just this agreement. The agreement if we take it is a step towards how we can radically restructure Greece, but the agreement is not the solution.&rdquo;

SOUNDBITE (German), Martin SCHULZ, EP President , &ldquo;If we put fences in Hungary or around the Union external boarders that is not going to solve the problem by building fences. I think we need to look at the roots of the problems and that is where we need to focus on all our efforts. That&rsquo;s where we need to do more in the future, what that means is that we need to allocate more resources for that in order to cooperate and to work together towards strengthening States. We have to see those States that have collapsed or are going to that we need to help sometimes by military means and mostly economic means.&rdquo;
